Abstract:
Τhe aim of the present study was to explore anxiety and depression in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
Results : The review of the literature showed that many factors trigger the problems of mental health that should be systematically evaluated as they may affect even the biological course of the disease. Rehabilitation programs contribute significantly to the reduction of anxiety and depression and therefore attendance is considered as an imperative need .
Conclusions : The assessment of mental health of patients undergoing cardiac surgery is important both in clinical practice and rehabilitation.
