Abstract:
The proposed research protocol depicts an attempt to explore the experiences of the families of patients who are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU) in three general hospitals in Crete, Greece. In this research protocol, the purpose of the study and the research questions are described. A brief literature review, followed by the research methodology the sampling strategy as well as issues of ethics in research are presented. Finally, the added value of the proposed study and the implications for practice are discussed.
