Abstract:
Introduction : The progress of the field of technology now offers new opportunities for the theoretical and clinical education of nurses.
The aimof this study was to highlight the benefits of continuing education and to present the distance and e-learning education for nurses
Results: Today the nurse must possess and maintain sufficient knowledge and skills throughout his professional career. The distance learning and specifically the e-learning education complements the traditional method of auditoriums and covers the needs both to European and Greek educational institutions and hospitals. The characteristics of involved are special and there are advantages and disadvantages of the method.
Conclusion: The distance and e-learning education is a new method that seems to can be included in the field of nursing education and offers many opportunities to nurses, combined with traditional learning technique
